SOA Event Plug: The 2nd Annual Morrow Community Fall Festival

“Unifying for a Purpose”

MORROW, GA –October 2, 2010- With an attendance of over 2,000 in 2009, the Morrow Fall Festival Planning Committee is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Morrow Community Fall Festival. This is a family oriented, cultural and educational event established to unify Morrow Middle & Morrow High Schools. It will take place on Saturday, October 2, 2010 from 10am to 3pm in the parking lots of Morrow High School located at the corner of Maddox Road & Old Rex Morrow Road in Morrow, Georgia. Admission is FREE to the public!

It is the first of its kind in Clayton County where the parents and students have taken the lead by volunteering their time to bring about unity among the students, families, faculty/staff, and the community of Morrow Middle & Morrow High Schools.

“It is our goal to raise funds for the academic programs and auxiliary groups of both schools as well as establish and/or re-establish joint venture partnerships between the local businesses, the community, and both schools.” -Valencia Stovall & Sharon Daniel, Festival Founders

This event fosters the true meaning of “it takes a village to raise a child”. During the major turmoil of the Clayton County School System’s accreditation incident, major support from the parents and the community diminished. There is a strong belief that the re-instatement of the system’s accreditation and the unity this festival will bring reinforces the commitment made by school system, parents, and the community to enhance the quality of education as well as the quality of life in Clayton County.

The Morrow Community Fall Festival will showcase a mosaic of the very best of rhythms and dances, arts and crafts, exhibits, children activities, and the flavors and aromas of ethnic and international cuisine. The highlight of the festival is the long-awaited Car & Bike Show which will feature a variety of vehicles entered by locals. It will be a fun-filled day of activities, socialization and enjoyment for the residents of Morrow and neighboring cities.
