If I knew then, what I know now...

Have you ever pondered to yourself, "if I knew then, what I know now I'd..." I'm sure we all have. I can say safely that I say it to myself ALL THE TIME. Some people might look at it as a statement of regret. A statement that "darn it I could have done anything, been anything, accomplished anything if I just knew the knowledge I have now back then."

To me, it's a statement of growth. A statement that you now acknowledge that you have the capabilities to not make the same mistakes or hold the same regrets again. A statement that you now know what needs to be done to get to the next chapter in your life. So let's try it. Let's ask ourselves "If I knew then, what I know now...what would be different?" BUT let's follow that same question with "Now that I have both the experience and knowledge, what can I do with it?"

If I knew then, what I know now...I would have saved more money in college as well as paid some of the interest down.
Now that I have both the experience and knowledge, I can save money NOW and work with my creditors to decrease the interest as well as find opportunities to have financial freedom.

Now...YOU TRY!
If I knew then, what I know now... ____________________________________________...
Now that I have both the experience and knowledge, _____________________________...

Sometimes Every time we observe what we did in the past, learn from it, and accept it it will make us better in the present and at our best in the future.

Motivational Monday: Don't be needy

Neediness is the cause of suffering. Needing nothing is how you attract everything
        -Russell Simmons, SuperRich

I want to know if you truly understand what that quote means? Have you ever heard of The Secret? About how what you manifest, think about, want...literally is what you actually get? Have you ever realized that when you have a "need" for something that is what you get?

Think about it. When you "need" something you actually focus on the lack of something else. For example, "I need money," makes you focus on the lack of money you have. When you stop needing things and accept what you have in abundance, you actually get more of what you want which in turn causes you to stop needing what you don't have.

Don't be needy...be abundant. #LOA

Motivational Monday: God says you're important

Last week, I did nothing, which is not like me. I had been feeling down and out about some things in my life and how my life wasn't going the way I'd hoped. How my personal life just didn't seem to be on track and how my professional life just seemed to be going slow. I was totally out of it. Although, I knew I had much to do, I just couldn't find the energy to do it. You could think I was in a temporary depression. Maybe even going through the beginning stages of my quarter life crisis...even though I still have a few more months to go. I felt like my purpose wasn't being realized and my potential wasn't being reached

Cue...THE MIRROR. Or as the rest of us call them...my best friend. My best friend will not allow me to wallow. I take that back. He will not allow me to wallow for too long. I like to think of best friends as the mirror we refuse to hold up to ourselves. He said something to me that was so profound, not only did it get me out of my funk and help me to get my momentum back, but he made me realize how many other things I had going on despite the negatives I felt I needed to be focusing my attention on.

I won't share my best friend...because I'm selfish (lol), but I will share a quote from him.

"You are important because [Your Creator] says so...You have not lived until you know what you're living for...some of us are out here dead, living against our purpose..."

I've been learning to create and incorporate my own affirmations into my life...I share mine with you as it relates to the above quote.

Affirmation #1:
I release the fear of the unknown and accept the blessings coming my way.
Affirmation #2:
I relinquish the need to focus on negative thought and utilize them as learning lessons.
Affirmation #3:
I see the good in people and situations, even when I want to think oppositely.
